The Old Fire Station Sandgate

Raising its fish scale spire above the rooftops it forms the centrepiece of the High Street, though the bell no longer clangs in the bell-cote, the bright red double doors proclaim it to be an old fire station. A beautifully pine-panelled room with an oriel window overlooking the High Street occupies the floor above. This building more than a century old is thought to be unique.
