The Sandgate Society
As a registered charity and civic society they have campaigned since 1962.Their goal is to preserve, enhance and promote the enjoyment of Sandgate village’s unique built and natural heritage.
The Sandgate Society work alongside the Sandgate Parish Council on a number of projects, including the collaboration in the development and updating of the Sandgate Design Statement. In Addition, cooperating on street scene improvements throughout the village. They run regular events and exhibitions, and new members are always welcome. Their home the Old Fire Station is more than a century old and also thought to be unique. Raising its fish scale spire above the rooftops it forms the centrepiece of the High Street. The bell no longer clangs in the bell-cote, however the bright red double doors proclaim it to be an old fire station.
There is beautifully pine-panelled room with an oriel window overlooking the High Street that occupies the first floor floor. The space is available to rent and has its own kitchen area.
The Chichester Memorial Hall
Sandgate’s Village Hall is located in Sandgate High Street, the lower ground floor being occupied by Sandgate Members Club.
The Hall is for hire by community or private groups. The hall holds the long running Sandgate Farmers and Makers Market on the 1st and 3rd Saturday of every month.

Other Councils
Sandgate Parish Council sits within the Folkestone and Hythe District Council area, which in itself sits within the Kent County Council area. The village is bordered by Folkestone Town Council and Hythe Town Council.
